  1. I was a driver of one of the RL Bedford trucks when Safari Village first opened in 1970.I took 25 passengers for a 10 day trip around Morocco after they spent 3-4 days at the village, the best job I ever had. Jim Speed

  2. This is the brochure for 1971 I was there when they started to produce it. Safari Habitation shows the late John Lucraft who went to own Camp Africa. Sahara Bar shows EVE behind the bar. Safari Village Sport shows, I believe, John Horne on the camel. The guy on the water skis is Peter Clarke. I have a copy of the brochure for the 1970 year, new Jim Speed well. Alan Smith

  3. It would be great to have a copy of your 1970 brochure if that is possible, as that was when we were there in a tent. Graham Keys.

  4. My name is Mike Harris, I was a truck driver who started after they stopped using mini busses and helped with John Boffee and Peter Clerk pick up the small blue tents that were used till the huts where built. I have an Original 'first' Brochure and the ammended version when they started using Coaches to bring the Punters down from Dieppe and we picked them up from Ceuta. mjwh@outlook.com for more info. 5. Mike Harris again I knew Frank Mcgrath and John Lucraft supposedly 28 and 27 according to the dreaded Brochure that was so ridiculous that 'Private eye' did a skit on it. Woodstock had just happened and Arlo Guthreys 'Coming into Los Angles' and 'In the summer time' by Mungo Jerry were played in the Disco. I caught Dengi fever and spent a night naked in Franks caravan being bathed with ice cubes by the 'nurse' to get my temperature down. Last thing I crashed my truck into a tree when looking for a camping spot up the road from FEZ. mjwh@outlook.com

  6. I remember Peter Clarke very well, because he was our driver and took me on a very memorable side trip to visit one of his friends somewhere near Agadir. We corresponded for a while and reconnected a few years ago, at which point he told me that he was very ill. As his messages stopped abruptly, I must assume that he's no longer alive, unless anyone else knows differently? (My maiden name was Collie, by the way, in case my face fifty years on rings a bell!)
