  1. I was a truck driver for Safari in 1970 when it was run by Dave Northeast and Edwin Brazil. They had just switched from Mini Busses to Bedford three toners and had taken over the 'la sable de ore' or Golden Sands Campsite. Other Drivers were John Boffee, Peter Clerk, other names i have forgotten. John lucraft ran operations and Frank McGrath worked at the camp site with Danny Speck. The Trucks and drivers where located in the old fish market in Asilah. If you know of any drivers (still alive, I am 76) I would like to contact them. I was the chap who crashed his truck into a tree near Fez and was 'dismissed' Mike Harris

  3. CHRISTMAS and all that Jazz.
Just stopped by to wish you all the Festive Best.
    What can I say?

If someone had told you, back in Safari days,
we would face the challenge of Covid in 2021,
you might have told them to drink less!

Like I've said before - I reckon our generation had the best of it.
Life goes up and down, but there.

Hang in there People, thangs gotta get better!!!!!!

  4. I was a 'punter' in 1970, Maggie Collie in those days with my friends Pam and Pauline, and I have many happy memories (and some quite bizarre ones) of that summer so long ago. Peter Clarke and David Northeast stand out particularly in my mind, although I have reason to believe that neither of them is still alive.(Very happy to be proved wrong, if anyone knows differently) www.maggiecobbett.co.uk
